A formula is only worth what a plant can reproduce. Documentation, scale-up notes and specs handed over so your contract manufacturer can run it cleanly.
A formula that works at bench scale and a formula that works at production scale are not automatically the same thing. Mixing behaviour, heating and cooling rates, order of addition and equipment differences all change how a batch comes together, and a manufacturer working from a thin spec sheet will make reasonable assumptions that quietly alter your product.
Handoff work exists to remove those assumptions. The manufacturer receives the formula alongside the process detail, the specifications the batch has to meet, and the notes explaining which parameters matter and which have latitude — so the first production run is a reproduction of what you approved rather than an approximation of it.
This also protects you commercially. Complete, portable documentation means you can move manufacturers if terms change, run a competitive quote, or bring on a second supplier for capacity. A formula that only one plant knows how to make is a formula that plant has leverage over.

Common questions
I already have a formula. Can you just document it?
Yes. Documentation and scale-up preparation is available as a standalone engagement for a formula developed elsewhere, provided you have the right to use it.
Do you recommend specific manufacturers?
I can help you evaluate candidates and ask the right questions. The choice stays yours — I do not take referral commissions, which is the arrangement that keeps that advice worth having.
What if the plant cannot reproduce the formula?
That is usually a process or equipment mismatch rather than a formula fault, and it is generally solvable. Catching it during transfer is far cheaper than discovering it in a full production run.
